SCOPING AND ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT PROCESS FOR THE PROPOSED 150 MW CARPE DIEM NORTH SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC PLANT ON PORTION 5 OF FARM VARKENSLAAGTE NO. 119, MERAFONG CITY LOCAL MUNICIPALITY, WEST RAND DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY, GAUTENG

Notice is hereby given in terms of the National Environmental Management Act, 1998 (Act No. 107 of 1998), as amended (NEMA) and the 2014 Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Regulations, as amended, of an application for Environmental Authorisation for the proposed large-scale Carpe Diem North Solar Photovoltaic Plant (SPP) with associated infrastructure, situated on Portion 5 of Farm Varksenlaagte No. 119 and Portion 23 of Farm Doornfontein No. 118, near Carletonville, within the Merafong City Local Municipality. This notice also serves to inform the public that the Draft Environmental Impact Assessment Report (DEIAR) and associated documents are available for comment.

Members of the public are hereby invited to register as interested and/or affected parties (I&APs) and/or to submit written comments on the development proposal and/or the DEIAR and associated documents, to Legacy Environmental Management Consulting on or before 04 June 2025 at the contact details below.

The DEIAR is available for review and comment for a minimum of 30 days, until Wednesday, 04 June 2025.
