SCOPING AND ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT PUBLIC PARTICIPATION PROCESS PROPOSED 150 MW CARPE DIEM SOUTH SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC PLANT (SPP) ON PORTIONS 27 AND 23 OF FARM DOORNFONTEIN NO. 118, MERAFONG CITY LOCAL MUNICIPALITY, WEST RAND DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY, GAUTENG.

Notice is hereby given in terms of the National Environmental Management Act, 1998 (Act No. 107 of 1998), as amended (NEMA), the 2014 Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Regulations, as amended, as well as the National Water Act, 1998 (Act No. 36 of 1998), as amended (NWA), of an application for Environmental Authorisation for the proposed large-scale Solar Photovoltaic Plant (SPP) with associated infrastructure, situated within the Merafong City Local Municipality. This notice also serves to inform the public that a Draft Scoping Report (DSR) and associated documents will be made available for comment.

Members of the public are hereby invited to register as interested and/or affected parties (I&APs) and/or to submit written comments on the development proposal and/or the Draft DSR and associated documents, to Legacy Environmental Management Consulting for the Environmental Authorisation process, on or before 14 April 2025 at the contact details below, and the WULA process, on or before 20 May 2025 to Kimberley van Zyl at Delta Ecology (Pty) Ltd at (kimberley@deltaecologists.com).
