PUBLIC PARTICIPATION PROCESS FOR THE DRAFT BASIC ASSESSMENT PROCESS FOR THE PROPOSED CLOSURE APPLICATION OF THE NGK CERAMICS SOUTH AFRICA FACILITY AND ASSOCIATED INFRASTRUCTURE, LOCATED ON ERF 164009, AIRPORT INDUSTRIA, WESTERN CAPE

Notice is hereby given in terms of the National Environmental Management Act, 1998 (Act 107 of 1998), as amended (NEMA) (as amended), and the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Regulations, 2014 (as amended) and the National Environmental Management Air Quality Act, 2004 (Act No. 39 of 2004), as amended (NEMAQA) for an Application for Environmental Authorisation (EA) for the proposed closure of the NGK Ceramics Facility (‘the facility’) and associated infrastructure on Erf 164009, Airport Industria (also referred to as ‘the site’). This notice also serves to inform the public that a Draft Basic Assessment Report (BAR) and Environmental Management Programme (EMPr) are available for a 30-day review and comment period from 06 March 2024 – 08 April 2024.
